Job Description
We are seeking a talented and motivated Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team in Stoke-on-Trent. This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual looking to contribute to challenging and impactful projects while being supported through the LMIA / Skilled Worker Visa process for eligible international candidates. You will be instrumental in the design, analysis, and delivery of diverse structural engineering projects, ensuring compliance with UK building regulations and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design calculations for various building types and infrastructure projects.
- Prepare detailed design drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Collaborate with architects, other engineers, and project stakeholders.
- Conduct site inspections and surveys to assess existing conditions and monitor construction progress.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant British Standards, Eurocodes, and local regulations.
- Mentor junior engineers and technicians as appropriate.
- Manage project timelines and budgets effectively.
- Contribute to bid proposals and client presentations.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Proven experience in structural analysis and design software (e.g., Robot Structural Analysis, ETABS, SAP2000, Tekla Structural Designer).
- Strong understanding of steel, concrete, timber, and masonry design principles.
- Excellent knowledge of British Standards and Eurocodes.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Chartered Engineer status (CEng) with a relevant professional body (e.g., ICE, IStructE) or actively working towards it.
- Experience with BIM software (e.g., Revit Structure).
- Previous experience on projects within the UK.
- Familiarity with sustainable design practices.
