Job Description
We are seeking a highly analytical and experienced Supply Chain Controller to join our team in Columbia, MO. This critical role will be responsible for overseeing the financial performance, reporting, and strategic cost management of our supply chain operations. The Supply Chain Controller will play a pivotal role in ensuring financial integrity, optimizing inventory, and providing key insights to drive efficiency and profitability within our complex global supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the financial reporting and analysis for all supply chain activities, including logistics, warehousing, and procurement.
- Develop, monitor, and analyze supply chain budgets and forecasts, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions.
- Perform detailed cost analysis, including landed cost, inventory valuation, and distribution costs, to identify savings opportunities.
- Ensure accurate inventory valuation, reconciliation, and manage associated financial risks.
- Provide financial partnership and strategic guidance to supply chain leadership on projects, investments, and operational improvements.
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for supply chain financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards (GAAP), and company policies.
- Support the annual planning and quarterly forecasting processes for supply chain expenses.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in financial processes and reporting within the supply chain.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Supply Chain Management.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in supply chain finance, cost accounting, or controlling within a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Strong understanding of ERP systems (SAP preferred) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to perform complex financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and internal controls.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a related field (MBA preferred).
- CPA or CMA certification.
- Experience with global supply chain operations.
- Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
- Prior experience in a large, publicly traded company.
