Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and meticulous Transit Train Cleaners to join our night shift team. This is a secure, full-time position responsible for ensuring our transit trains are immaculate and hygienic for daily passenger service. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and public health that Black Hills Transit Services is known for. The night shift offers a consistent schedule and the opportunity to work independently while contributing to the overall operational excellence of our transit system.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning and sanitization of train interiors, including seats, floors, windows, and surfaces.
- Empty waste receptacles and replace liners.
- Clean and disinfect restrooms within train carriages.
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
- Remove graffiti and scuff marks as needed.
- Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies, reporting any shortages.
- Operate various cleaning equipment safely and efficiently (e.g., floor scrubbers, vacuum cleaners).
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company cleaning standards.
- Report any damage or maintenance issues observed during cleaning to supervision.
Required Skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of cleanliness.
- Physical stamina and ability to stand, walk, bend, lift (up to 50 lbs), and carry for extended periods.
- Reliability and punctuality for a night shift schedule.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in commercial cleaning, custodial services, or janitorial roles.
- Experience working night shifts.
- Familiarity with operating industrial cleaning equipment.
