Job Description
We are seeking highly skilled and dedicated NAATI Certified Translators for all languages to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role involves translating a wide range of documents from various source languages into English, and from English into various target languages, ensuring absolute accuracy, linguistic precision, and cultural appropriateness. The ideal candidate will possess an impeccable command of their target language(s), deep cultural understanding, and an unwavering commitment to upholding NAATI’s stringent ethical and quality standards. This is a hybrid role, offering flexibility with some on-site collaboration in our Surfers Paradise office.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate documents, texts, and other materials accurately and idiomatically from source languages into target languages, and vice-versa, adhering strictly to NAATI certification guidelines.
- Ensure all translations convey the original meaning, tone, and context while maintaining cultural relevance.
- Conduct thorough research and utilize appropriate terminology and glossaries to ensure consistency and accuracy across projects.
- Proofread and edit translations to eliminate grammatical, spelling, and punctuation errors, as well as ensure formatting consistency.
- Manage multiple translation projects simultaneously, meeting strict deadlines and quality requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers and other linguistic professionals to clarify requirements and optimize translation quality.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and data security for all translated materials.
- Continuously enhance linguistic and subject matter expertise.
Required Skills
- NAATI Certification (Professional or Certified Translator) in at least one language pair.
- Exceptional linguistic proficiency in English and at least one other language (source and target).
- Proven experience in professional translation across various subject matters (e.g., legal, medical, technical, general).
- Excellent written communication skills with a keen eye for detail and nuance.
- Proficiency in CAT tools (e.g., SDL Trados, MemoQ, Wordfast).
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Commitment to professional ethics and confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Translation, Linguistics, or a related field.
- Certification in multiple language pairs.
- Experience with translation memory (TM) and terminology management (TMG) systems.
- Familiarity with style guides specific to different industries.
- Experience in a hybrid work environment.
