Job Description
We are seeking an ambitious and experienced Tunneling Engineer to join our dynamic team in Brixton, London. This pivotal role involves contributing to complex underground infrastructure projects, from initial design phases through to construction and completion. We welcome international applicants and are prepared to provide a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) and support with visa sponsorship for the right candidate. You will play a crucial role in ensuring project success, adhering to the highest standards of safety, quality, and environmental responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed design and analysis for tunneling and underground works.
- Oversee on-site tunneling operations, ensuring adherence to specifications and safety protocols.
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, and drawings.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including geologists, structural engineers, and project managers.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and propose effective solutions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in site inspections and client meetings.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in tunneling or underground construction projects.
- Proficiency in tunneling design software (e.g., PLAXIS, RocScience, AutoCAD Civil 3D).
- Strong understanding of geotechnical principles and ground conditions.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards it.
- Experience with TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine) operations.
- Knowledge of UK tunneling standards and regulations.
- Experience with BIM (Building Information Modeling) tools.
