Job Description
We are seeking a robust and enthusiastic Turf Farm Hand to join our dynamic team in Moulden, NT. This is a demanding outdoor physical role ideal for individuals who thrive in an active environment and enjoy working with their hands. You will be instrumental in the cultivation, maintenance, and harvesting of premium turf grass, contributing directly to the beauty of properties across the Top End. Key Responsibilities
- Operating and maintaining various farm machinery and equipment, including tractors, mowers, and harvesters.
- Preparing land for planting, including soil conditioning and leveling.
- Planting, fertilizing, and irrigating turf to ensure optimal growth and health.
- Monitoring turf for pests, diseases, and weeds, and applying appropriate treatments.
- Harvesting and preparing turf for delivery, including cutting, rolling, and stacking.
- Assisting with general farm maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of facilities.
- Adhering to all safety protocols and operational guidelines.
- Working collaboratively with team members to meet production targets.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and stamina for prolonged outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform repetitive tasks.
- Basic understanding of agricultural practices or willingness to learn quickly.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment.
- Valid Australian driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in horticulture, landscaping, or farm work.
- Experience operating farm machinery (e.g., tractors, mowers).
- Forklift license.
- Knowledge of turf varieties and their specific care requirements.
