Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive market research to identify emerging trends, attractive investment sectors, and competitive landscapes within Scotland.
- Proactively source and screen potential investment opportunities through various channels, including startup databases, university incubators, industry events, and direct outreach.
- Analyze pitch decks, business plans, and financial models of prospective companies to assess their viability and alignment with our investment thesis.
- Prepare concise summaries and initial diligence reports for presentation to the investment team.
- Assist in managing and updating our CRM system to ensure accurate tracking of deal flow and company interactions.
- Support the investment team in organizing and attending industry conferences, pitch events, and networking functions.
- Contribute to ad-hoc research projects and special initiatives as required by the firm.
Required Skills
- Strong research and analytical capabilities, with an ability to synthesize complex information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, suitable for professional business environments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Demonstrated enthusiasm and interest in venture capital, startups, entrepreneurship, or specific technology/innovation sectors.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and thrive in a fast-paced team setting.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree.
