Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Wind Turbine Technician / Engineer to join our growing team in Reno, NV. This critical role involves the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of wind turbine generators and associated equipment. You will play a vital part in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our wind farm assets. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on wind turbine mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex technical issues on wind turbine components and control systems.
- Conduct major component repairs and replacements, including gearboxes, generators, and blades.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, operational procedures, and environmental regulations.
- Complete detailed service reports, logs, and other documentation accurately and promptly.
- Participate in comprehensive training programs to stay current with evolving turbine technology.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and site management to ensure efficient operations.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systems maintenance and repair.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Comfort working at heights and in confined spaces.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various wind farm sites.
- Basic computer proficiency for data entry and report generation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or technical certification in Wind Energy Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Previous experience working on wind turbines.
- Knowledge of SCADA systems and turbine control software.
- GWO certifications (First Aid, Manual Handling, Fire Awareness, Working at Heights, Sea Survival if applicable).
- Experience with various wind turbine manufacturers and models.
