Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and organized individual to join our Radiology Department as an Entry Level X-Ray / Radiology File Clerk. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to start a career in healthcare administration with no prior experience required. You will be responsible for managing and organizing patient X-ray and radiology files, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and confidentiality. Full training will be provided to ensure your success in this vital role, contributing to the efficient operation of our diagnostic imaging services.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize and maintain patient X-ray and radiology film files, both physical and digital.
- Retrieve and file patient records accurately and in a timely manner as requested by medical staff.
- Ensure strict adherence to patient confidentiality (HIPAA) guidelines.
- Assist with scanning and digitizing older film records.
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail and faxes related to radiology reports.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, medical staff, and other departments.
- Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives.
- Perform general administrative duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic computer proficiency (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced medical environment.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures and technologies.
- Reliable and punctual.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in an office or administrative setting (not necessarily medical).
- Familiarity with medical terminology is a plus, but not required.
- Experience with data entry.
