Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Scaffolder’s Assistant to join our dynamic team in Mackay. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start or advance their career in the construction industry, specifically within scaffolding. While previous experience is beneficial, we are keen to hear from reliable candidates who are eager to learn and work at heights. You will receive comprehensive training and support, working alongside experienced scaffolders on critical projects, often involving high work with attractive premiums.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist qualified scaffolders in the erection, alteration, and dismantling of scaffolding structures in a safe and efficient manner.
- Transport scaffolding materials (tubes, fittings, boards) to and from work areas.
- Inspect scaffolding components for defects and report any issues immediately.
- Maintain a clean and organised work site, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored.
- Adhere strictly to all site safety procedures and regulations, including working at heights protocols.
- Participate in daily toolbox talks and safety briefings.
- Learn and apply various scaffolding techniques under supervision.
- Operate basic hand and power tools safely as required.
Required Skills
- Strong work ethic and reliability.

- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy materials.
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
- Excellent awareness of workplace safety.
- Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Current Australian White Card (Construction Induction Card).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a construction or industrial environment.
- Basic understanding of scaffolding terminology or components.
- First Aid certification.
- High Risk Work Licence (HRWL) – Basic Scaffolding (SB) or a willingness to obtain.
- Forklift licence (LF) is a plus.
