Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Supply Chain Director to lead and optimize our complex international supply chain operations. This pivotal role requires a visionary leader capable of managing global logistics, supplier relationships, and procurement strategies to ensure efficiency, resilience, and cost-effectiveness across our diverse programs. The successful candidate will drive innovation in supply chain processes, mitigate risks, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams worldwide to meet demanding project timelines and quality standards. This position is open to international applicants with the appropriate work authorization, demonstrating our commitment to global talent. While primarily a hybrid role based in Rockville, MD, some international travel will be required to manage global supply networks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive international supply chain strategies aligned with corporate objectives and global market dynamics.
  • Lead and mentor a diverse team of supply chain professionals, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee end-to-end supply chain processes, including procurement, logistics, inventory management, and warehousing for international operations.
  • Negotiate and manage strategic relationships with international suppliers and partners to secure competitive terms and ensure consistent quality and delivery.
  • Implement robust risk management strategies to mitigate potential disruptions in the global supply chain, including geopolitical and economic factors.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives and efficiency improvements across all supply chain activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all international trade regulations, customs requirements, and ethical sourcing standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, finance, and program management teams to forecast demand and synchronize supply chain activities.
  • Leverage advanced analytics and technology to enhance supply chain visibility, predictability, and responsiveness.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in international supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex global supply networks and strategic supplier relationships.
  • Strong understanding of international trade regulations, customs, and logistics.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
  • Proficiency in supply chain management software and ERP systems.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, MBA, or a related advanced degree.
  • Certifications such as CSCP, CPIM, or equivalent.
  • Experience in the Aerospace & Defense industry.
  • Fluency in multiple languages.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles applied to supply chain.
