Job Description

Northrop Grumman is seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team as Trainee Economic Data Analysts focusing on government statistics. This entry-level position is designed for individuals with little to no prior experience, offering comprehensive training and mentorship to develop expertise in collecting, processing, and analyzing economic data for various government projects. You will learn foundational data analysis techniques, statistical software, and gain insights into public sector data reporting standards, contributing to critical decision-making processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in structured training programs to understand economic data sources and methodologies.
- Assist senior analysts in the collection, organization, and validation of large datasets from various government sources.
- Learn to use statistical software (e.g., R, Python, SAS, SQL) for data manipulation and analysis.
- Prepare preliminary reports and visualizations of economic trends under supervision.
- Support the creation of presentations and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain data integrity and adherence to established data governance policies.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance data analysis processes and reporting capabilities.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Ability to learn new software and technical concepts quickly.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated interest in economics, statistics, public policy, or data analysis.
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Public Policy, or a related field (or expected completion within 6 months).
