Job Description

Are you looking for an ongoing, full-time role in agriculture with no prior experience required? Central Desert Piggeries is offering a fantastic opportunity for a Pigery Labourer to join our dedicated team in Alice Springs. This is an entry-level position where full comprehensive training will be provided, making it ideal for individuals eager to start a career in animal husbandry. You will play a crucial role in the daily operations of our piggery, contributing to the health and well-being of our livestock.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily feeding and watering of pigs according to established schedules and protocols.
  • Clean and maintain piggery pens, sheds, and equipment to ensure a hygienic environment.
  • Assist with the movement and handling of pigs, ensuring animal welfare at all times.
  • Monitor animal health and report any signs of illness or injury to supervisors.
  • Carry out general farm duties, including minor maintenance and repairs as required.
  • Adhere to all biosecurity and safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to achieve daily operational goals.

Required Skills

  • No prior experience in pig farming or agriculture is necessary – full training provided.
