Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Gastroenterology Doctor to join our dynamic team at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie, Ontario. Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventative care to patients with gastrointestinal and liver diseases.
- Perform various endoscopic procedures including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, and other advanced procedures as required.
- Manage a diverse patient panel in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team of specialists, nurses, and allied health professionals.
- Participate in departmental meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing medical education.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records in compliance with professional and institutional standards.
- Provide on-call coverage as part of a rotating schedule.
Required Skills
- Medical Degree (MD) from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a Gastroenterology residency program.
- Current certification or eligibility for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC) in Gastroenterology.
- Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).
- Excellent clinical diagnostic and treatment skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Commitment to patient safety and quality care.
Preferred Qualifications
- Fellowship training in a specialized area of Gastroenterology (e.g., IBD, hepatology, advanced endoscopy).
- Experience working in a regional health centre or academic hospital setting.
- Demonstrated interest or experience in medical education or research.
- Proficiency in additional languages.
