Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Barrister to join our esteemed Chambers in Cardiff. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in our litigation and advisory practice, providing expert legal counsel, representing clients in court, and contributing to the strategic development of complex cases. This is an exceptional opportunity for a barrister with a proven track record to thrive within a supportive and challenging environment, working on high-profile matters across various sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing expert legal advice and opinions to solicitors and direct access clients.
- Representing clients in courts, tribunals, and arbitrations across various jurisdictions.
- Drafting pleadings, applications, skeleton arguments, and other legal documents.
- Conducting legal research and analysis to support case strategies.
- Negotiating settlements and engaging in alternative dispute resolution processes.
- Managing a demanding caseload effectively and efficiently.
- Collaborating with instructing solicitors and other legal professionals.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of legal developments and best practices.
Required Skills
- Called to the Bar of England and Wales.
- Minimum of 3 years' post-call experience in a relevant practice area (e.g., commercial, public law, family, crime).
- Demonstrable experience of advocacy in court and excellent oral communication skills.
- Exceptional written communication and drafting abilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent client care and relationship management skills.
- High degree of professional integrity and ethical conduct.
Preferred Qualifications
- Higher rights of audience (if applicable to specific practice area).
- Experience working with public sector clients or large corporations.
- A specialist practice area that complements existing Chambers expertise.
- Fluency in Welsh is a desirable but not essential asset.
- Proven track record of successful case outcomes and client satisfaction.
