Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Operations Director to lead and optimize our operational functions in Norwich. This pivotal role will be responsible for overseeing the efficiency, effectiveness, and scalability of our core business processes, ensuring we deliver exceptional service and value to our customers. The successful candidate will drive continuous improvement initiatives, manage large-scale projects, and foster a culture of operational excellence within a dynamic and complex financial services environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with business goals and objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the end-to-end operational processes, identifying areas for optimization, automation, and cost reduction.
  • Manage operational budgets, ensuring financial targets are met and resources are allocated effectively.
  • Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational efficiency and service delivery.
  • Drive large-scale operational projects and change initiatives from conception through to successful implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments, including IT, finance, and customer service, to achieve integrated business outcomes.
  • Identify and mitigate operational risks, developing robust contingency plans.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a senior operational leadership role, preferably within financial services or a similarly regulated industry.
  • Strong strategic planning and execution capabilities.
  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
  • Expertise in process optimization, lean methodologies, and operational best practices.
  • Solid financial acumen and experience with budget management.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to drive change and innovation in a complex organizational structure.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a related field.
  • Certifications in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt).
  • Experience with large-scale digital transformation projects.
  • A deep understanding of the insurance or savings industry regulatory landscape.
