Job Description
Are you an early riser looking for a dynamic part-time role in a fast-paced environment? Join Coles Supermarkets as an Early Bird Picker in our Fortitude Valley store! In this role, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently picking and packing customer online orders during early morning shifts. You’ll ensure that our customers receive the freshest and highest quality products, playing a vital part in their daily shopping experience. Full training will be provided, making this an ideal opportunity for individuals eager to start a career in retail or logistics, even with no prior experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick and pack customer online orders according to specified requirements and quality standards.
- Ensure the freshness, quality, and proper handling of all products, especially perishable items.
- Efficiently operate handheld scanners and other picking equipment while adhering to safety guidelines.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment within the picking area.
- Strictly adhere to all food safety and hygiene standards and procedures.
- Work effectively as part of a team to meet daily picking targets and deadlines.
- Assist with stock replenishment and inventory checks as required.
Required Skills
- Reliability and punctuality for early morning shifts.
- Strong attention to detail for accurate order fulfilment.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
- Physical fitness to stand, walk, bend, and lift items up to 15kg regularly.
- Basic communication skills to interact with team members.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new processes and systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Some previous experience in a retail, warehouse, or grocery environment (highly regarded but not essential).
- An understanding of basic food safety and hygiene principles.
- Availability to consistently work early morning shifts, including weekends on a roster basis.
