Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Remote Special Education Consultant to join our advisory team. This work-from-home role will involve providing expert guidance and strategic support to educational institutions on matters related to special education programs, compliance, and best practices. The successful candidate will leverage their deep understanding of special education law and pedagogy to help clients develop effective, inclusive, and compliant educational environments for students with diverse needs. This is a 100% remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to impact education nationwide from your home office.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert consultation on special education policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance (e.g., IDEA, ADA, state-specific mandates).
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of existing special education programs and recommend strategic improvements.
- Develop and implement individualized education program (IEP) best practices and compliance frameworks.
- Advise clients on effective instructional strategies, assistive technology, and accommodations for students with disabilities.
- Facilitate training sessions and workshops for educators, administrators, and support staff.
- Support clients in navigating dispute resolution processes and ensuring equitable access to education.
- Stay abreast of current trends, research, and legislative changes in special education.
- Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and recommendations for client stakeholders.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in special education, education administration, or related advisory roles.
- In-depth knowledge of federal and state special education laws and regulations (e.g., IDEA).
- Proven ability to conduct program evaluations and develop strategic recommendations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Proficiency in virtual collaboration tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Education Administration, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Special Education, Educational Leadership, or a related discipline.
- Experience working with diverse educational settings (e.g., public, private, charter schools).
- Certification as a Special Education Teacher, Administrator, or related professional credential.
- Prior experience in an advisory or consulting capacity.
