Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and safety-conscious Traffic Cone Setup Helper to join our highway maintenance team in Southampton. This role is crucial for ensuring the safety of our work crews and the general public during roadworks. You will be responsible for the accurate and timely deployment and removal of traffic management equipment, primarily traffic cones, under direct supervision. This is an on-site role requiring physical stamina and a commitment to health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the setup and removal of traffic management systems, including cones, signs, and barriers, as directed by the site supervisor.
- Ensure all equipment is deployed according to site plans and safety protocols.
- Monitor traffic cones and other equipment for stability and correct placement throughout the work shift.
- Communicate any immediate safety concerns or equipment issues to the team leader.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including loading and unloading equipment from vehicles.
- Adhere to all company health and safety policies and procedures at all times.
- Participate in daily toolbox talks and safety briefings.
Required Skills

- Physical fitness to lift and carry heavy equipment and stand for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

- Valid UK driving license.
