Job Description
We are seeking a talented and motivated Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to join our growing team in Aurora, ON. You will work closely with business stakeholders to understand their data needs, create insightful reports and dashboards, and ensure the accuracy and accessibility of critical business information. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement scalable Business Intelligence solutions, including dashboards, reports, and data visualizations, using various BI tools.
- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather and understand reporting requirements, translating them into technical specifications.
- Develop and optimize ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to integrate data from diverse sources into data warehouses or data marts.
- Perform data modeling, data cleansing, and data validation to ensure data quality and integrity.
- Monitor and troubleshoot BI system performance, ensuring high availability and optimal user experience.
- Provide technical support and training to end-users on BI tools and reports.
- Stay updated with emerging BI technologies and best practices, recommending improvements and innovative solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment of BI solutions.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in SQL for data querying and manipulation.
- Strong experience with at least one major BI tool (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, QlikView).
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts (e.g., Kimball, Inmon methodologies).
- Experience with ETL processes and tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate complex data insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Certifications in relevant BI tools (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, Tableau Desktop Specialist).
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, Google Cloud Dataflow).
- Familiarity with scripting languages like Python or R for data analysis.
- Knowledge of Big Data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
- Experience in an IT consulting environment.
