Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietitian / Clinical Nutritionist to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team in Gaspé. This is an excellent opportunity for passionate individuals, including new graduates, who are eligible for professional registration in Quebec and require sponsorship to work in Canada. You will play a crucial role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating nutritional problems, providing expert guidance, and developing personalized nutrition plans for patients across various care settings. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for patients with diverse health conditions.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nutrition care plans based on evidence-based practice.
- Provide nutrition education and counseling to patients, families, and caregivers on healthy eating habits and disease-specific diets.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to integrate nutrition care into overall treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in accordance with professional and organizational standards.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to patient case discussions.
- Stay current with advancements in nutritional science and dietetic practice through continuous professional development.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Dietetics or Nutritional Sciences from an accredited institution.
- Eligibility for registration with L'Ordre des diététistes du Québec (ODNQ) or equivalent regulatory body (support provided for the registration process).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in French or English (bilingualism is an asset).
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a compassionate approach to patient care.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous clinical experience (including internships or supervised practice).
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English.
- Familiarity with the Quebec healthcare system.
- Experience with electronic health records systems.
