Job Description
We are looking for dedicated and physically fit Refuse Loaders / Bin Collectors to join our vital waste management team in Grimsby. This is a full-time, on-site role with early morning starts, ensuring our community’s waste is collected efficiently and safely. You will be an integral part of a team, working outdoors in all weather conditions, making a real difference to the local environment. Full training will be provided, so no previous experience in waste management is necessary, just a strong work ethic and a commitment to teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the driver in navigating collection routes safely and efficiently.
- Collect various types of waste and recycling from residential and commercial properties.
- Load bins and bags onto the refuse vehicle, operating equipment safely.
- Work as part of a team to ensure all scheduled collections are completed on time.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Report any issues or hazards encountered during the collection process.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness around the collection vehicle and sites.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and walking for extended periods.
- Reliable and punctual, with the ability to commit to early morning starts.
- Strong team player with a positive attitude.
- Ability to work effectively outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Good communication skills.
- A strong understanding and commitment to health and safety procedures.
- No prior experience required; full training will be provided.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in an outdoor or physically demanding role.
- Knowledge of local Grimsby area roads and routes.
- Full UK driving license (desirable, but not essential for this role).
