Job Description
Are you ready to kickstart your career in a vital industry? Wincanton plc is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Federal Logistics & Supply Chain Assistant to join our team in Manchester. This is an entry-level position designed for individuals with no prior experience in logistics or supply chain management. We believe in nurturing talent, and full comprehensive training will be provided to ensure you gain the knowledge and skills needed to succeed. You will play a crucial role in supporting our federal contracts, helping to ensure the smooth flow of goods and information within highly regulated supply chains.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the coordination and tracking of shipments for federal contracts.
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records within our logistics management systems.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners regarding shipment status.
- Support inventory management activities and assist with stock reconciliation.
- Prepare and process necessary documentation for logistics operations.
- Learn and adhere to all federal regulations and company policies related to supply chain.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
- Handle general administrative tasks as required to support the logistics team.
Required Skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
