Job Description
Join Cleanaway as a Recycling Sorter at our state-of-the-art facility on the Gold Coast. This is a fantastic long-term opportunity for individuals who are reliable, detail-oriented, and keen to contribute to environmental sustainability. No prior experience in recycling or similar industries is necessary, as comprehensive, full training will be provided to ensure you are confident and competent in your role. You will play a crucial part in the sorting and processing of recyclable materials, ensuring they are directed to the correct streams for further processing and a positive environmental impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Manually sort various recyclable materials, including plastics, paper, cardboard, and glass, on a moving conveyor belt.
- Identify and remove non-recyclable items and contaminants from the recycling stream.
- Ensure sorted materials meet specific quality standards for efficient downstream processing.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment at all times, strictly adhering to all company safety protocols and procedures.
- Operate light machinery or equipment as required, following appropriate training and certification.
- Assist with general cleanup and maintenance duties within the facility to uphold operational efficiency.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or quality control issues to supervisors promptly.
Required Skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately identify different material types.
- Basic communication skills to interact effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Reliable and punctual work ethic, demonstrating consistent attendance.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing, warehouse, or production environment.
- Current Australian driver's license.
- Basic First Aid certificate.
