Job Description

Lehigh Hanson is excited to offer a unique opportunity for individuals with no prior experience to join our team as a Concrete Mixer Truck Driver Trainee. We believe in investing in our people, which is why we will sponsor and provide all necessary training for you to obtain your Commercial Driver’s License (CDL/HGV). As a trainee, you will learn the ins and outs of safely operating a concrete mixer truck, delivering vital construction materials to various sites across the region. This is an entry-level position designed to kickstart your career in a stable and essential industry. Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively in comprehensive CDL/HGV training program, adhering to all instructions and regulations.
- Learn and master the safe operation of concrete mixer trucks, including pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Understand and follow all company safety protocols and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Assist in the loading and unloading of concrete mixtures under supervision.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle and work area.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, plant personnel, and customers.
- Develop a thorough understanding of concrete properties and delivery procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned while training.
Required Skills
- Willingness to learn and commit to a paid CDL/HGV training program.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
- Clean driving record (non-CDL) for at least 3 years.
- Strong work ethic and a commitment to safety.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks associated with the role.
- Effective communication skills.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Mechanical aptitude or experience with vehicle maintenance.
- Prior experience in a labor-intensive role.
- Familiarity with the Camden, NJ area and surrounding regions.
