Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Intelligence Analyst (Assistant) to join our Security team in Port Macquarie. This entry-level to mid-level role is ideal for individuals eager to develop their career in intelligence analysis within a dynamic security environment. You will be instrumental in supporting senior analysts by collecting, processing, and analyzing diverse data sources to identify threats, assess risks, and contribute to actionable intelligence reports. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the collection, collation, and analysis of intelligence from various open-source and proprietary channels.
  • Monitor global and regional security threats, geopolitical developments, and emerging trends relevant to client operations.
  • Prepare clear, concise, and timely intelligence reports, briefings, and presentations for internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Support senior analysts in conducting in-depth research and threat assessments on specific security concerns.
  • Maintain and update intelligence databases and information management systems.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of intelligence methodologies and analytical tools.
  • Participate in incident response planning and post-incident analysis as required.
  • Ensure all intelligence activities comply with ethical guidelines, company policies, and relevant legal frameworks.

Required Skills

  • Proven analytical and critical thinking abilities with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficiency in data collection, organization, and basic analysis techniques.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report writing and presenting findings.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
  • Foundational understanding of security principles and intelligence cycles.
  • Competency in using standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Security Studies, International Relations, Political Science, Criminology, Intelligence Studies, or a related field.
  • Prior experience (1-2 years) in an analytical role, preferably within a security or intelligence context.
  • Familiarity with open-source intelligence (OSINT) tools and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of the Australian security landscape, including relevant legal and regulatory frameworks.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) – entry level).
