Job Description

Are you a hard-working individual looking for a full-time role that offers good pay and the satisfaction of building tangible structures? Ballarat Rural Buildings is seeking a motivated Rural Shed Builder Assistant to join our dedicated team. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role suited for someone who enjoys working outdoors and is eager to learn the ropes of rural construction. You will work alongside experienced builders, assisting with all phases of shed construction, from site preparation to final assembly. We value reliability, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to contribute to a positive team environment. Full training will be provided to the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist skilled builders with the construction and assembly of various rural sheds and structures.
  • Load, unload, and safely transport building materials such as steel frames, roofing, and cladding.
  • Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision, ensuring safe and efficient use.
  • Prepare work sites, including minor excavation, levelling, and material organisation.
  • Measure, cut, and fit materials as instructed by lead builders.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment at all times.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform general labouring tasks as required to support the construction process.

Required Skills

  • Physical fitness and the ability to perform demanding manual labour, including heavy lifting.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively in a team.
  • Basic understanding of safety practices on a construction site.
  • Willingness to learn new construction skills and techniques.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current White Card (Construction Induction Card).
  • Valid Australian Driver's Licence and reliable transport.
  • Previous experience in manual labour, construction, or an outdoor trade.
  • Familiarity with various hand and power tools commonly used in construction.
