Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lift Technician with a strong electrical background to join our team in Alice Springs. This is a specialised trade role requiring expertise in the installation, maintenance, repair, and modernisation of various lift systems, including those that involve high-work environments. The successful candidate will be critical in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our clients’ vertical transportation systems across the region. You will be responsible for diagnostic troubleshooting, corrective and preventative maintenance, and adherence to all safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and safety checks on a wide range of lift equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic faults in lift systems.
  • Conduct modernisation and installation work as required, often involving working at height.
  • Respond to emergency call-outs and breakdown situations efficiently and safely.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Complete accurate service reports, logs, and other documentation.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, industry standards, and regulations.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain professional communication with clients.
  • Participate in an on-call roster for out-of-hours support.

Required Skills

  • Australian Electrical Trade Qualification or equivalent.
  • Current 'A' Grade Electrical License.
  • Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience as a Lift Technician or in a related electrical field.
  • Proven experience working at heights and knowledge of associated safety protocols.
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities on complex electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Current Australian Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Elevator industry-specific training and certifications.
  • High-Risk Work License (e.g., EWP, Scaffold).
  • Experience with a variety of lift brands and control systems.
  • Post-trade qualifications in electronics or controls.
