Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as an Oyster Farm Assistant. This entry-level position offers a fantastic opportunity to learn the ropes of oyster farming, contribute to sustainable aquaculture practices, and enjoy a high hourly rate. You will be an integral part of our operations, working outdoors in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the cultivation, growth, and harvesting of oysters.
- Perform general farm maintenance, including cleaning and equipment upkeep.
- Sort and grade oysters according to quality standards.
- Prepare oysters for market, including packing and loading.
- Operate small boats and specialized equipment (training provided).
- Adhere to strict health, safety, and hygiene protocols.
- Contribute to a positive and productive team environment.
Required Skills
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift up to 20kg.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team.
- Basic communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a physical outdoor role.
- Knowledge of basic tools and machinery.
- A passion for seafood or aquaculture.
- Current driver's license.
