Job Description
Are you a true animal lover with a passion for the outdoors? Pets at Home in Headingley is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Dog Walker to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys spending time with dogs of all shapes and sizes, ensuring they receive the exercise and companionship they need. You will be an integral part of our pet care services, providing a safe, fun, and stimulating environment for our canine clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely walk dogs individually or in small groups, adhering to established routes and schedules.
- Provide fresh water and treats as necessary (with owner permission).
- Clean up after dogs during walks and dispose of waste responsibly.
- Monitor dogs for any signs of illness, injury, or behavioral issues and report them promptly to owners or management.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all dogs under your care.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with dog owners regarding their pets' activities and any observations.
- Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor at all times.
Required Skills
- Genuine love for animals and understanding of dog behavior.
- Ability to handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Good physical stamina and ability to walk for extended periods.
- Must have a valid driving license and access to a reliable vehicle.
