Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Government Funded Youth Worker to join our team in Vaudreuil-Dorion. This full-time position focuses on providing essential support and guidance to youth, particularly during evening and weekend shifts when their needs are often greatest. You will play a crucial role in creating a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for young individuals, helping them navigate challenges, develop life skills, and connect with community resources. This role involves direct interaction, program facilitation, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the holistic well-being of the youth we serve.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct supervision, support, and mentorship to youth in various settings (e.g., community centers, group homes, outreach programs).
- Facilitate and lead engaging activities, workshops, and recreational programs designed to promote personal growth, social skills, and positive choices.
- Offer crisis intervention and de-escalation support as needed, maintaining a calm and reassuring presence.
- Assist youth in developing life skills, including problem-solving, communication, and conflict resolution.
- Collaborate with parents, guardians, schools, and other community partners to ensure coordinated support for youth.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of interactions, progress, and incidents.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all youth under supervision, adhering to all agency policies and procedures.
- Act as a positive role model and advocate for youth, empowering them to reach their full potential.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated passion for working with youth and adolescents.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.

- Basic computer proficiency for record-keeping.
Preferred Qualifications
- A degree or diploma in Social Work, Youth Work, Psychology, Education, or a related field.
- Previous experience (paid or volunteer) working with youth in a supervised setting.
- Knowledge of local community resources and support networks for youth.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Bilingualism (French and English) is considered a strong asset.
