Job Description
We are urgently seeking dedicated and reliable Loading Bay Operatives to join our night shift team in Paterson, NJ. This is an immediate start position, perfect for individuals who thrive in a dynamic environment and are ready to contribute to efficient operations. As a Loading Bay Operative, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth flow of goods through our fulfillment center, from receiving to dispatch. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for those looking to start a career in logistics.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently unload incoming shipments from trucks and containers.
- Sort and stage products in designated areas within the loading bay.
- Load outgoing trucks with precision, ensuring proper weight distribution and secure placement of goods.
- Operate material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks and forklifts (training provided), in a safe manner.
- Perform routine safety checks on equipment and report any malfunctions.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the loading bay.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist with inventory counts and quality control checks as needed.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 49 pounds regularly, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Capability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods during a shift.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential for night shift operations.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to learn and operate material handling equipment (training provided).
- Basic understanding of safety procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing environment is a plus, but not required.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
