The Hoboken Port Authority Security Division is seeking highly motivated individuals to join our team as Trainee Port Security Officers. Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively in all provided training programs to learn security protocols and procedures.

- Learn and apply access control procedures for personnel, vehicles, and cargo entering and exiting the facility.
- Observe and report any suspicious activities, security breaches, or potential hazards to supervisory personnel.
- Respond to minor incidents and emergencies under supervision, following established protocols.
- Maintain accurate logs and records of daily activities and incidents.
- Enforce port regulations and ensure compliance by all individuals on the premises.
- Collaborate with senior officers and other agencies to ensure a coordinated security effort.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to learn and adhere to strict security protocols
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
- Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Physical ability to perform duties including standing, walking, and potentially lifting
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid New Jersey driver's license
- Basic computer proficiency
