Job Description
Are you passionate about making a positive impact on children’s lives? Mount Barker Community School is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable After School Care Assistant to join our dedicated team. This part-time position involves working afternoon shifts, supporting our engaging after school program. You will be instrumental in creating a stimulating and secure environment where children can learn, play, and grow. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise children during after school activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Organise and facilitate engaging recreational and educational activities, including arts and crafts, games, and outdoor play.
- Assist children with homework and provide general support as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe environment for children.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and other staff members.
- Adhere to all school policies and procedures, including health and safety guidelines.
- Handle minor first aid incidents and follow emergency protocols when necessary.
- Promote positive behaviour and social interactions among children.
- Prepare and serve snacks according to dietary requirements and school guidelines.

- Relevant qualifications in childcare or education (e.g., Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care) are highly regarded but not essential.
