Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Agricultural Equipment Mechanic to join our dynamic team in Ross-on-Wye. The successful candidate will be responsible for the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of a wide range of agricultural machinery, including tractors, combines, sprayers, and other farm implements. Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on agricultural equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance, preventative checks, and scheduled servicing.
- Execute complex repairs, rebuilds, and overhauls of engines, transmissions, and other components.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and software to identify faults and ensure accurate repairs.
- Maintain detailed records of all service and repair work performed.
- Provide on-site service calls to farms as required.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding equipment status and repair options.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an Agricultural Equipment Mechanic or similar heavy equipment role.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and powertrains.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and specialized tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Valid driver's license.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Vocational degree or certification in Agricultural Mechanics or Heavy Equipment Repair.
- Experience with specific agricultural machinery brands (e.g., John Deere, Case IH, New Holland, Fendt).
- Familiarity with GPS guidance systems and precision agriculture technology.
- Forklift operator certification.
- Prior experience working in a dealership environment.
