Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic City Recreation Center Supervisor to join our team in Goodyear. This vital role involves overseeing the daily operations of a designated recreation center, ensuring a safe, fun, and engaging environment for community members of all ages. The supervisor will manage staff, coordinate programs, maintain facilities, and serve as a key point of contact for patrons and community partners. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, and schedule recreation center staff, including part-time employees and volunteers.
- Oversee the planning, organization, and execution of recreational programs and activities for various age groups.
- Manage the daily operations of the recreation center, ensuring compliance with safety standards and departmental policies.
- Monitor and maintain facility cleanliness, equipment functionality, and overall operational readiness.
- Handle patron inquiries, concerns, and feedback in a professional and timely manner.
- Assist in budget preparation and monitor expenditures for center operations and programs.
- Develop and implement marketing strategies for programs and events to maximize community participation.
- Prepare regular reports on program participation, facility usage, and operational metrics.
- Collaborate with community organizations, schools, and local groups to expand program offerings and outreach.
- Ensure proper record-keeping for program registrations, incident reports, and staff attendance.
Required Skills

- Proficiency in basic computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite).
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Knowledge of recreation program development and implementation.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management, Leisure Studies, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Two years of experience in recreation programming or facility management.
- Experience working in a municipal or public sector environment.
- Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish).
