Job Description
Are you passionate about climbing and eager to turn that passion into a rewarding career? Coastal Ascent Climbing Centre is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team as a Climbing Gym Belay Instructor Trainee. This is an active, hands-on role where you will receive comprehensive training to become a certified belay instructor. No prior experience is required – just a positive attitude, a commitment to learning, and a desire to help others discover the joy of climbing. You’ll work closely with our experienced team, gaining the skills needed to ensure the safety and enjoyment of our members and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively in all required training programs to achieve belay instructor certification.
- Learn and strictly adhere to all safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Assist experienced instructors in supervising climbing areas and ensuring member safety.
- Provide enthusiastic and clear belay demonstrations and instruction to new climbers once certified.
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment within the climbing facility.
- Develop strong communication skills to interact effectively with climbers of all ages and abilities.
- Promote safe climbing practices and the use of appropriate equipment.

- First Aid and/or CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
