Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Cloud Security Specialist to join our dynamic team in Boulder, Colorado. This role is crucial for protecting our cloud infrastructure, applications, and data from evolving cyber threats. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cloud security principles, experience with major cloud platforms, and a passion for implementing robust security measures. As a Cloud Security Specialist, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining security controls, conducting vulnerability assessments, and responding to security incidents within our cloud environments. Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain cloud security architectures and controls across various cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure).
- Conduct security assessments, penetration tests, and vulnerability scans on cloud-based systems and applications.
- Develop and enforce cloud security policies, standards, and best practices.
- Monitor cloud environments for security incidents, alerts, and anomalies, and lead incident response activities.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to integrate security into the CI/CD pipeline and promote DevSecOps practices.
- Automate security tasks and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provide expert guidance on cloud security matters to internal teams and stakeholders.
- Stay current with the latest cloud security threats, technologies, and industry trends.
- Participate in security audits and compliance initiatives related to cloud environments.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in cloud security, information security, or a related field.
- Proficiency in at least one major cloud platform (GCP, AWS, or Azure) with relevant security certifications.
- Strong understanding of cloud security concepts, including identity and access management (IAM), network security, data encryption, and logging/monitoring.
- Experience with security tools and technologies for cloud environments (e.g., SIEM, WAF, IDS/IPS, CASB).
- Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field.
- Professional security certifications such as CCSP, CISSP, AWS Certified Security, Azure Security Engineer, or Google Cloud Professional Security Engineer.
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2).
- Experience in a global enterprise environment.
