Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and diligent Night Shift Porter to join our dedicated team on a part-time roster basis in Buffalo, NY. This essential role ensures the cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness of our hotel property during the overnight hours. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks across various hotel areas, including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and back-of-house spaces.
- Empty trash receptacles and transport waste to designated disposal areas.
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors; clean and polish fixtures.
- Respond promptly to requests from hotel guests or staff for cleaning assistance or minor maintenance issues.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness standards throughout the night, addressing spills and messes as they occur.
- Assist with setting up and breaking down event spaces as needed.
- Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or unusual observations to the Night Manager.
- Ensure all cleaning equipment is properly maintained and stored.
- Adhere to all safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
Required Skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Reliability and punctuality for scheduled shifts.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, lift (up to 50 lbs), and move heavy objects for extended periods.
- Basic understanding of cleaning products and techniques, or willingness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a cleaning, janitorial, or hospitality role is a plus, but not required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Familiarity with safety procedures for cleaning chemicals and equipment.
