Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Commercial Analyst to join our team in Chesterfield. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in driving commercial success by providing insightful analysis and strategic support to our sales, finance, and operational departments. You will play a key role in understanding market dynamics, evaluating pricing strategies, and identifying opportunities for growth and efficiency within our dynamic business environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of sales performance, customer profitability, and market trends.
  • Support the development and implementation of pricing strategies to optimize revenue and margin.
  • Prepare financial models, forecasts, and reports to aid commercial decision-making.
  • Monitor key commercial performance indicators (KPIs) and highlight areas for improvement or opportunity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data, understand business requirements, and present findings.
  • Assist in the preparation of commercial budgets and quarterly forecasts.
  • Identify and recommend process enhancements to improve the accuracy and efficiency of commercial reporting.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a commercial analyst, financial analyst, or similar analytical role.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and financial modeling).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Solid understanding of commercial principles and financial concepts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Part-qualification or actively studying towards a professional accounting qualification (e.g., CIMA, ACCA).
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Previous experience within the manufacturing, packaging, or supply chain industry.
