Job Description
Are you passionate about great beer and love connecting with people? We’re seeking an enthusiastic and friendly Craft Beer / Bottle Shop Advisor to join our evening team. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a lively, welcoming environment and is eager to share their passion for craft beer – or to learn all about it! As an Advisor, you’ll be the face of our shop during evening hours, guiding customers through our diverse range of beers, providing expert recommendations, and ensuring every visit is a fantastic experience. While previous craft beer sales experience is a plus, a great attitude, strong customer service skills, and a willingness to learn are what truly matter to us. Full training on our products and systems will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and engage customers warmly, providing personalized recommendations and assistance.
- Process sales transactions accurately using our point-of-sale (POS) system and handle cash.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting shop floor, including shelving and display areas.
- Assist with receiving, stocking, and rotating new beer deliveries efficiently.
- Stay informed about new products, promotions, and craft beer trends to enhance customer interactions.
- Ensure strict compliance with licensing laws, including age verification checks.
- Contribute to a positive, friendly, and supportive atmosphere for both customers and colleagues.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A genuine passion for customer service and creating a welcoming environment
- Reliability and availability to work evening shifts
- A keen interest in craft beer and a desire to learn more (training provided)
- Basic numeracy skills for handling transactions
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a retail or hospitality setting
- Existing knowledge of craft beer styles, breweries, and the wider industry
- Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems
