Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and innovative Curriculum Developer to join our learning and development team in Cheltenham. The successful candidate will be instrumental in designing, developing, and implementing high-quality training programs and educational content for our diverse workforce, covering technical, operational, and professional development areas. This role requires a strong understanding of instructional design principles, adult learning theories, and the ability to translate complex technical information into engaging and effective learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop comprehensive curriculum, learning modules, and course materials for various training programs.
- Conduct needs assessments to identify skill gaps and training requirements across different departments.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather content and ensure accuracy and relevance of training materials.
- Utilize instructional design methodologies (ADDIE, SAM, etc.) to create engaging and effective learning solutions.
- Develop a variety of learning assets, including e-learning modules, instructor-led training (ILT) guides, job aids, and assessments.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and revise materials based on feedback and performance data.
- Stay current with best practices in instructional design, learning technologies, and adult education.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Curriculum Developer, Instructional Designer, or similar role, typically 3+ years.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design models.
- Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to analyze complex information and present it clearly and concisely.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Instructional Design, Education Technology, or a related field.
- Experience in an aerospace, manufacturing, or highly technical industry.
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) administration.
- Certification in instructional design or training and development.
