Job Description
PNC Bank is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Data Privacy Officer to join our compliance team in York, PA. This critical role involves overseeing our data privacy program, ensuring strict adherence to global and national data protection regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant privacy laws within the financial sector. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and enforcing privacy policies and procedures across the organization. You will serve as the primary point of contact for all data privacy matters, advise leadership on privacy best practices, manage data breach incidents, and conduct regular privacy impact assessments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive data privacy policies, procedures, and guidelines in compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and other applicable data protection laws.
- Monitor compliance with privacy regulations and internal policies, conducting regular audits and assessments.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for data protection authorities and handle data subject rights requests (e.g., access, rectification, erasure).
- Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) for new projects, systems, and processes.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to various departments on data privacy matters, including marketing, IT, HR, and product development.
- Manage and investigate data privacy incidents and breaches, ensuring timely reporting and resolution in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Develop and deliver privacy training and awareness programs for employees across the organization.
- Stay abreast of new privacy laws, regulations, and industry best practices, making recommendations for program adjustments as necessary.
- Collaborate with legal, security, and IT teams to integrate privacy-by-design principles into all operational aspects.
Required Skills
- Deep expertise in global data privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR and CCPA.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing data privacy programs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to translate complex legal requirements into practical business solutions.
- Experience with privacy risk management and incident response.
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM, or other relevant privacy certifications.
- Experience in the financial services industry.
- Master's degree or Juris Doctor (JD).
- Familiarity with privacy enhancing technologies (PETs).
- Experience working with international teams and diverse data protection frameworks.
