Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and physically capable Delivery Van Loading Assistant to join our Waukegan team. In this entry-level role, you will be crucial in ensuring that packages are efficiently and accurately loaded into delivery vans, helping our drivers prepare their routes for timely and successful deliveries. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start a career in logistics with a supportive and dynamic company. This is an on-site position requiring consistent attendance and the ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently sort and load packages into delivery vans according to specified routes and safety guidelines.
- Verify package counts and ensure all items are accounted for before dispatch.
- Assist drivers with organizing their vans for optimal route efficiency.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely, such as pallet jacks or hand trucks, if required (training provided).
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment within the loading dock area.
- Communicate effectively with drivers and other team members to ensure smooth operations.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures at all times.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 lbs consistently.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Basic communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or physical labor role (though not required, it's a plus).
