Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Disaster Recovery Lead to join our Emergency Management team in Ipswich. This critical role involves developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive disaster recovery plans and strategies to ensure business continuity across BT Group’s vital services and infrastructure. You will be instrumental in safeguarding our operations against potential disruptions, leading recovery efforts, and continuously improving our resilience frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and test comprehensive disaster recovery (DR) plans for critical business systems and infrastructure.
- Lead DR exercises, including planning, execution, and post-exercise review and reporting.
- Coordinate with internal teams (IT, Operations, Security) and external vendors to ensure DR readiness.
- Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities, and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Manage and improve incident response and crisis management protocols.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and internal policies.
- Provide expert guidance and training to staff on disaster recovery procedures.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of DR plans, procedures, and test results.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in disaster recovery planning and emergency management.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, network systems, and data recovery methodologies.
- Experience with business continuity planning (BCP) and incident management frameworks.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and coordinate complex recovery efforts.
- Proficiency in project management techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CBCP, MBCI, PMP).
- Experience in the telecommunications or critical infrastructure sector.
- Familiarity with ISO 22301 standard.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
