Job Description
Join Lehigh Valley Health Network as a Disaster Response & Emergency Management Intern, focusing on initiatives in partnership with FEMA and the American Red Cross. This entry-level internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in the vital field of emergency management and public health preparedness. You will contribute to projects designed to enhance community resilience, support disaster relief efforts, and assist in the coordination of resources during emergencies. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about public service, looking to develop skills in critical incident management, logistics, and community engagement within a large, impactful healthcare system. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and review of emergency preparedness plans and protocols.
- Support data collection and analysis related to disaster readiness and response effectiveness.
- Participate in community outreach programs and educational initiatives to promote public safety.
- Provide administrative support for emergency management projects and daily operations.
- Help coordinate resources and volunteers during simulated or actual emergency events.
