Job Description

Are you looking to kickstart a new career in a dynamic and essential industry? Tesco is offering an exciting opportunity for an Entry-Level Distribution Centre Order Picker in our Chichester facility. No prior experience is required, as comprehensive training will be provided to ensure you become proficient in all aspects of the role. You will be a vital part of our supply chain, ensuring products are accurately picked and prepared for delivery to our stores, directly impacting our customers’ ability to find the products they need. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment, perfect for individuals who are reliable, eager to learn, and thrive in a team setting. Full training includes safe operation of warehouse equipment and best practices in order fulfilment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately pick and pack customer orders according to specified procedures
  • Operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently after receiving full training (e.g., pallet trucks)
  • Perform quality checks on products to ensure they meet standards before dispatch
  • Assist with loading and unloading goods as required
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve daily targets and maintain operational flow
  • Report any discrepancies or damaged goods to supervisors promptly

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a warehouse or production environment (not essential, but a plus)
  • Familiarity with general warehouse practices
  • Experience operating MHE (Manual Handling Equipment) such as pallet trucks (training will be provided if no experience)
