Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable Dog Walkers to join our dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who love animals, enjoy being outdoors, and are looking for a rewarding role. As a Dog Walker, you will be responsible for providing safe, fun, and stimulating walks for dogs of various breeds and temperaments. Full training will be provided to ensure you are confident and competent in all aspects of the role, including pet first aid and handling techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely walk dogs in various outdoor environments, adhering to agreed routes and schedules.
- Manage multiple dogs simultaneously, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Provide fresh water and basic care before and after walks.
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding their pet's activities and any observations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including personal equipment and company vehicles (if applicable).
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety protocols and animal welfare guidelines.
- Handle unexpected situations calmly and professionally, such as minor injuries or behavioral issues.
Required Skills
- Genuine love for animals and a passion for their well-being.
- Ability to walk long distances in various weather conditions.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic understanding of dog behavior or a willingness to learn quickly.
- Must be physically fit and able to handle dogs of all sizes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with dog handling or animal care (professional or personal).
- Knowledge of local parks, trails, and safe walking areas in Stoke-on-Trent.
- Pet First Aid certification.
- Valid UK driving license and access to a reliable vehicle (mileage reimbursed).
