Job Description

Join the Loblaws Inc. team as a Drivers Mate / Porter in Brampton, ON! We’re seeking reliable and physically fit individuals to support our delivery operations. This is a full-time, on-site position offering weekly pay and opportunities for growth within a leading Canadian retailer. As a Drivers Mate / Porter, you will be an integral part of our logistics team, working closely with our professional drivers to ensure timely and accurate deliveries. Your day will start early, ensuring our products reach our customers efficiently and in perfect condition. This role requires strong teamwork, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist drivers with loading and unloading goods from delivery vehicles at various locations.
  • Ensure all items are handled with care to prevent damage during transit and delivery.
  • Verify accuracy of delivery manifests and customer orders upon arrival.
  • Navigate routes efficiently with the driver, providing assistance as needed.
  • Interact professionally with customers, ensuring a positive delivery experience.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and transportation regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the delivery vehicle.
  • Report any discrepancies, issues, or damages immediately to the driver or supervisor.

Required Skills

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy items regularly (up to 50 lbs / 23 kg).
  • Strong physical stamina and endurance for early starts and demanding workdays.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a logistics, warehouse, or delivery assistant role.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Familiarity with the Brampton and Greater Toronto Area roads.
