Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as an Egg Collection Farm Hand. This is an entry-level position perfect for those looking to start a career in agriculture, with no prior experience required. We provide comprehensive training to ensure you are confident and capable in all aspects of the role. You will be responsible for the daily collection and initial processing of eggs during morning shifts, ensuring the highest standards of quality and animal care. This role requires physical stamina and a positive attitude.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect eggs by hand from nesting boxes in a timely and careful manner.
- Sort and load collected eggs onto flats or into containers.
- Inspect eggs for quality, cleanliness, and damage.
- Assist with routine cleaning and maintenance of chicken coops and nesting areas.
- Monitor the health and well-being of the flock, reporting any concerns to supervisors.
- Replenish feed and water as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all farm safety and animal welfare protocols.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including repetitive motion, bending, lifting up to 25 lbs, and standing for extended periods.
- Reliability and excellent attendance, particularly for early morning shifts.
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions diligently.
- Attention to detail to ensure egg quality and animal care.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable working in a farm environment, which may include dust, straw, and animal sounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a physically demanding role (e.g., warehouse, construction, general labor).
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to the farm location.
